Dan Stesco's JMJ Part 2 Pack Review !

Author : Cyph

Introduction

The time has come to test Dan Stesco's latest pack!

You do not know Dan Stesco yet? Well, it's simple, Dan has been working on Korg synths for a few years now.

You will probably find some of his famous sounds on M3, M50, but also on Korg Kross. What does he reserve for us in the upcoming weeks / months? Only Korg knows it!

Anyway, it's again with immense pleasure that we will test its JMJ Pack part 2!

Let's test

To begin with, I must admit that I have a certain bias: I love Jean-Michel Jarre since my childhood when my parents listened to a cassette of Oxygene looping in their 2CV car, to fall asleep or calm us ... These musics are therefore engraved in my auditory memory.

What we can say about this pack is that we find everything we love in the Dan Stesco combinations:

The small details that make the difference: perfectly programmed rhythms, SFX, analog sound layers like we love them.

Dan is not only strong in sound programming, combinations are measured in terms of volume and spatial distribution. For me, this is, with JMJ part 1, one of the best that can be released in terms of complexity of combinations ... even some factory combinations are sometimes less good.

Samples are present, but remain discrete, it is not to eclipse the creativity of the programmer with a reinforcement of sounds taken elsewhere.

My favorite one in this pack : Chronologie 4 (8min46 on the youtube demonstration), so easy to play it, very intuitive ! (i've learned it few years ago and I directly played it !)...I loved also Equinoxe 5 !

In short, the content is present to really please you, look at the demonstration to convince you to buy this pack.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it is difficult to pass next to this pack if you already owns the first one.

Dan Stesco offers the possibility to buy both packs simultaneously (for 79$), a good deal to discover the work of our favorite sound designer.

Personally, I still want to see other titles more exotic, as I've done with Calypso (best of combi sound pack) ...

There is still so much to do, that we can just dream of a third part to this long saga. 5 stars without hesitation.

Xavier L. Piano combinations for Korg Krome

Author : Xavier L.

"hop v'la la combi jazz ici avec les piano electrique ( parce que j'utilise des vst pour les pianos acoustique) je te laisse donc le libre arbitre de créer une combi en doublon avec les piano acoustique ."

Thank you Xavier for your pack.

I suppose your Combinations will find its place on kromeheavener's synth !

Enjoy !
