Krome Analogue Synth Madness
Description
KASM Stands for Krome Analogue Synth Madness. A copyrighted patch set of 128 programs and 128 Combis for the Korg Krome for only $19.99 US dollars.
KASM represents hundreds of hours of programming. All programs are analogue synth type with no blips or stupid non-musical patches. Did you know that many of the internal synth type waveforms are not represented in any stock Krome patches? Well not any more. Each of the 128 programs utilizes a different synth wave form (multisample). Each program uses 4 oscillators of the same wave form for the fattest sound possible. All of the internal synth type multisamples are used KASM. The programs are named according to the multisample they use.
The Combinations are not simply mixtures of programs, KASM makes extensive use of “Tone Adjust” to make each combi a unique patch in itself. Many combis have 8, 12 or more oscillators going at once for the fattest synth sounds possible. Because of the nature of the KASM programs, making your own combis is fairly straightforward but you already get 128 synth combis.
The effects section on the Krome is extensive and KASM uses all of it's power. Different layers are run through different effects (one layer may have phaser, and another layer delay and flanger both while still another goes through voice resonator). A different effect scheme is used on each program and combi.
Common controllers used on the patches and Combis:
Switch 1 usually makes the sound brighter
Switch 2 always turns on the portamento
Knob 1 always is the portamento time
Knob 2 does various things
Knob 3 is almost always the delay dry/wet (BMP delay times are controlled by the tempo knob)
Knob 4 is always reverb just as on the stock Krome patches.

Conclusion
I was very intrigued by this pack and also very pleased to see that programmers (other than Dan;)) had invested the Korg Krome community.
And. .. what a surprise that Kasm!
Tons of sounds ready to play good old synthesizers ! It will finally invade your Krome ... I spent a few hours testing the sounds and I have still not done the trick! There are so many sounds!
I did not play too much on combis, because I like the combinations with drum track, arp, etc…this is not the case here, only fat and good vintage sounds, so it does not matter at all.
This is a great pack for only $ 19.99 I assure you, it's worth it!
